August Intentions: A gentle reset with a daily movement goal

A fresh start – one walk (or stretch!) at a time.

August reset

August feels like the perfect time to gently reset. I’m trading all-or-nothing for a little-every-day mindset. Think yoga, walks, stretches, strength. Just something to remind my body I’m here for it.

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not the queen of consistency when it comes to exercise. Over the years, I’ve had bursts of motivation, pinned dozens of routines, and even purchased the cutest gear. But somehow the rhythm always fizzles out. Life gets busy. Kids need something. Work piles up. Or I just don’t feel like it.

But here we are in August, a month that feels like one last deep breath of summer before the pace picks up again. And this year, I’m using it to gently reset.

I’m not chasing a transformation or a strict program. I just want to move my body every single day this month, whether it’s a long walk, a 20-minute yoga flow, or 15 minutes of stretching before bed. The goal is movement, not perfection.

My August Movement Plan: Gentle, Flexible, Doable – here is what I’m aiming for:

  • A daily movement ritual – 15-45 minutes depending on the day
  • Minimal pressure – no specific body goals, just energy, strength, and stress relief
  • Something enjoyable – if I dread it, I don’t do it

What I’m Using (and Loving) from Amazon – these are the items making my August reset easier, and honestly, a little prettier too:

Gruper yoga mat

A comfortable mat makes such a difference for yoga, stretching, and even quick strength sessions.

amazon echo earbuds

Podcasts, playlists, or meditation apps make movement feel like “me time”.

WeGYM weights

I’m keeping it simple with a set of 3 pound and 5 pound hand weights.

Workout set

This matching workout set is equal parts functional and flattering. You can go from squats right to school drop off and is offered in tons of colors!

Ozaiic Yoga socks

These grippy, breathable yoga socks keep you grounded during every flow, no slipping, no distractions.

Wiuses candle

This lavender eucalyptus candle helps signal to my body (and brain) that it’s time to wind down after movement.

Want to Join Me?

I’m not turning this into a strict challenge, just a gentle promise to myself that I deserve to feel good in my body.

If you’ve also fallen off the wagon, or maybe never got on it in the first place, you’re not alone. Let’s start small. Let’s celebrate the little wins. If you decide to join in, tag me on Instagram @fourducksandalatte and share how you’re moving this month. I’d love to cheer you on.
